UMS was very organized and you can tell they run like a very well oil machine. The nurse that initially greeted me was very very friendly, very nice, and extremely courteous. The physician assistant I saw was really nice, really knowledgeable. And then when the doctor, Dr. Phillips came in, she was very nice and they seem to communicate very well with one another in a very good unit. And overall, I'm very happy and I look forward to using Dr. Phillips all during my pregnancy.

My normal provider was on vacation and I was scheduled with DeeAna for a replacement for one visit. I did not feel that we had a productive visit. She contradicted what my original provider instructed me to do with blood sugars recordings. Instead of telling me to continue checking them every 1 and 2 hours after meals so said to "pick one because this is confusing". That comment made me feel that she was not competent enough about gestational diabetes to be treating me. And her medical advice about GD made me feel that she had no empathy for patients struggling with this problem. I chose to continue my original plan given to me by my normal provider and I will cancel/reschedule any future appointments that are scheduled with her.
