The experience I had there, besides being disappointed I couldn't fully get my procedure done, that was out of their reach, but the experience I had with the staff, and the people that were directly helping me was wonderful. From the time I got in my car, out of my car, to the time we were actually in the procedure room, everybody was so professional, so helpful, so, showed so much concern, and I really, really, really felt comfortable there. Thanks.

I could have used more detailed directions, the signs on the front of the bldg. do not tell you where it is and at 6:45 a.m. most of the doors were locked. It took two or three attempts at asking for directions before I figured out, by randomly opening doors, where I needed to be.

The nurse that took my blood sugar immediately after I got to the recovery area was not someone I hope to ever have near me again. I was awake and without so much as letting me know what she was about to do she used a lancet that must have been set all the way on 5 to poke my finger. I say it must have been set so high because 9 days later I can still see where she did that when on my other hand (the hand I always use to take my blood sugars) I can not see the marks from the many times a day I have tested my blood sugar myself from just two days ago. When I told her she could have said something first she said "I thought you were asleep." I think that's an awful reason for not telling someone what you're about to do before you do it to them. I also told her how painful it was when she did that to which she replied "everyone is different". Needless to say I told her I needed a different nurse and still didn't really want to be touched by anyone after that. I was so relieved when I was quickly allowed to leave. I hope I never need to go back there again. Also, I hope someone teaches that nurse a more appropriate way to communicate with a patient regardless of if she believes they are awake or not.
