Clinical Biography
Dr. Thatikala’s clinical focus centers on stroke and the broader spectrum of vascular neurology, giving patients a specialist trained specifically in conditions that affect blood flow to the brain. He primarily treats patients who have experienced an ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke, as well as those managing related conditions such as transient ischemic attacks, carotid artery disease, cerebral aneurysms, and other cerebrovascular disorders that raise a patient’s risk of stroke.
His care extends beyond the acute event itself to the full course of a patient’s recovery and prevention, from diagnosis and emergency management through rehabilitation planning and long-term risk reduction strategies tailored to each patient’s health history. Because timing and precision are critical in stroke care, patients benefit from his fellowship-level training in recognizing subtle vascular symptoms early and coordinating rapid, evidence-based treatment, an approach that can meaningfully reduce long-term disability and improve outcomes.
