Opportunities to Give
The UAMS Medical Center Auxiliary provides volunteer opportunities for almost any area of interest. From clerical support to wayfinders, trained animal therapy assistants and waiting area hosts, the UAMS Volunteer Department can find a spot to fit your schedule and skill level. Contact the Volunteer office at 501-686-5656 for more information.
Organ and tissue donations help save lives and help in research to provide new cures and treatments for a variety of illnesses and conditions. In Arkansas, you can become a donor by joining the Organ Donor Registry, a confidential database maintained by ARORA, the Arkansas Regional Organ Recovery Agency. If you have “donor” on your driver’s license, you are already in the registry. If you don’t have that designation on your license, you can request a free driver’s license data change form from ARORA or any State Revenue Office. In Arkansas living next-of-kin must still approve any organ and tissue recovery, so tell your family about your decision.
Family members often like to thank a UAMS care giver with a donation to the hospital in their honor. Donations may also be made in tribute to a loved one. For more information, go to our giving section.
