Not only do our members organize fundraisers of our own, but we get involved locally with other organizations to donate our time and effort! This year Aux Crew members volunteered with the Hat Club, a socially responsible non-profit organization that offers access to unique community service and charity events, by assisting with their annual “Hat Club Salute” which is their annual crawfish boil where all proceeds benefitted the UAMS NICU and the Little Rock Zoo.
Aux Crew Member, Reed Willett, helped out at the Clinton Presidential Center’s “Bridge to the Future” Festival where kids learned about healthy eating habits, gardening techniques, knife skills, and fitness!
Haley Jaggers, Anna Lewis, and Susannah Monk volunteered at the Little Rock Zoo’s annual “Wild Wines of the World”, where all proceeds raised from the evening helped the Arkansas Zoological Foundation purchase a new train for the Little Rock Zoo. This annual event is a tour around the world of food and wine at the Little Rock Zoo! Wild Wines of the World features dozens of local area restaurants serving-up some of the best nibbles of food paired with wine expertly picked by Jonathan Looney of O’Looney’s.
Aux Crew Members also volunteered at the Thea Foundation’s annual “Thea Arts Festival” sponsorship dinner. Aux Crew Member, Emily Cobb of Art E Cobb, was honored to be a part of the event and showcase her talent as a local artist. The Thea Foundation was formed in 2001 shortly after the untimely death of Thea Kay Leopoulos. Thea’s story begins as a rather typical one for a seventeen-year-old girl, making Cs and Ds and disliking school. However, by the end of her junior year, Thea was making As and Bs in difficult subjects and loving school. After more than ten years of experience and research in education, we know that Thea’s sudden involvement in visual art, dance, drama and creative writing made all the difference.”
