This class helps prepare expectant parents for the events that will occur during labor and delivery. The course covers topics such as:
- The definition of labor
- The signs and symptoms of labor
- Coping with the pain of labor
- Coping with the physical and emotional changes associated with early, active and transition labor
- The birth of the baby
Relaxation and breathing techniques are introduced during class.
This course is free, and pre-registration is required. Last minute registration will only be accepted if space permits.
Class is offered twice per month with morning and afternoon times available.

UAMS Health has suspended in-person tours of Labor and Delivery.
In-person Prenatal Classes have resumed at the UAMS Health Women’s Center located at 6119 Midtown Ave. You must be a patient of UAMS Health to attend these free classes. Because of COVID-19, class size is limited.
