Pastoral Care and Compassion
We all deal with difficult situations in different ways. For patients and guests who embrace their faith, the Pastoral Care Department at UAMS provides pastoral and emotional support to patients and their loved ones. We are committed to treating each patient and their family members with dignity, respect, and compassion.
The UAMS Pastoral staff respects the faith and traditions of each patient. Upon request, our staff will assist in contacting the patient’s representative of their faith community, to give the patient needed support for their individual situation. We recognize each patient and family has their own traditions, comes from different cultural backgrounds, and expresses in unique ways what is meaningful in their life. Chaplain staff respect these differences and seek to provide individual religious and emotional support.
UAMS chaplains are available 24 hours a day to provide pastoral and emotional support to patients, families, and staff. If you would like to have a pastoral visit or speak with a chaplain, please contact UAMS Pastoral Care Department at (501) 516‐9120.
