UAMS Enjoys Sounds of Holiday Season
DEC. 19, 2006 | The sounds of the Christmas season could be heard in the halls and cafeteria at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) recently.
Two community groups visited UAMS Medical Center to sing Christmas carols and spread holiday cheer for patients, families, visitors and employees.
On Dec. 12, about 20 employees of Little Rock investment banking firm Crews & Associates sang Christmas carols in the Ward Tower lobby. The group then delivered about 100 sacks of fruit decorated by Park View Elementary students. The sacks were given to hospital patients or their families.
The next day, a choir from Dunbar Middle School in Little Rock, performed in the UAMS Cafeteria at noon. The choir’s performance had employees, patients and their families pausing to enjoy the show.
“Having these visitors was a treat for our patients and employees,” said Gloria Wright, director of volunteer services at UAMS. “We appreciate these friends from the community giving their time to come to UAMS and celebrate the holidays with us.”
