Thirteen Named to UAMS Foundation Fund Board

| Sept. 21, 2017 | Thirteen new members have been elected to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Foundation Fund Board of Directors.

The board supports and assists UAMS leadership in delivering the resources necessary for UAMS to achieve its vision and goals. Members can serve up to three terms for a total of nine years.

The 13 new members were each selected to represent the UAMS advisory board under which they serve, with the goal of gaining official representation from all areas of the institution.

“The UAMS Foundation Fund Board is an invaluable asset to UAMS for its support as we continue our mission to improve the health, health care and well-being of Arkansans,” said UAMS Interim Chancellor Stephanie Gardner, Pharm.D., Ed.D. “These individuals have demonstrated their commitment by volunteering their time and expertise, and we are grateful for their willingness to assume more responsibility.”

  • Jerry Adams of Conway is the president and CEO of the Arkansas Research Alliance. He is the chair of and represents the BioVentures Advisory Board and serves on the UAMS College of Pharmacy Dean’s Advisory Council. He is a former member of the UAMS Advancement Council.
  • Judy Adams of Little Rock is the owner of Catering To You. She represents the UAMS College of Medicine Board of Visitors and is a member of the UAMS Psychiatric Research Institute Advisory Board, the UAMS Medical Center Auxiliary and the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute Auxiliary.
  • Larry Alman of Little Rock is the president of Sol Alman Co. He is the chair of and represents the UAMS Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging Advisory Board. He served for 10 years as commissioner of the Little Rock Port Authority.
  • Carl Collier, Pharm.D., of Fayetteville is the owner of Collier Drug Stores. He represents the UAMS Northwest Arkansas Campus Advisory Board.
  • Keith Cragg of Alexander is an area manager at CenterPoint Energy. He is the chair of and represents the UAMS Consortium.
  • Ray Dillon of Little Rock is the former president and CEO of Deltic Timber Corp. He is represents the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute Foundation Fund Board and serves on the Arkansas Forestry Commission Board of Commissioners.
  • Denise Garner of Fayetteville is the founder and board chair of Role Call, and the founder of Feed Communities and Feed Fayetteville. She represents the UAMS Psychiatric Research Institute Advisory Board and is a member of the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute Foundation Fund Board and the UAMS Psychiatric Research Institute Director’s Club.
  • Janet Jones of Little Rock is the owner and president of The Janet Jones Company. She represents the UAMS College of Public Health Advisory Board and is a member of the UAMS Medical Center Auxiliary and the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute Auxiliary. She is a former board member of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis – Little Rock Branch.
  • Kenan Keyes of Little Rock is a longtime volunteer for UAMS and Arkansas nonprofit organizations. She is a member of the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute Foundation Fund Board and represents the Cancer Institute Auxiliary.
  • Lester Matlock, C.F.P., of Little Rock is the franchise owner and private wealth advisor for Matlock & Associates. He represents the UAMS College of Nursing Advisory Board and is a member of the UAMS College of Pharmacy Dean’s Advisory Council.
  • Anita McAllister, Pharm.D., M.S., of Fort Myers, Florida, is the director of Prism Healthcare Partners, where she also serves as a practicing pharmacist and pharmacy consultant to the pharmaceutical industry. She represents the UAMS College of Pharmacy Dean’s Advisory Council.
  • Lisa McNeir, Ph.D., of Little Rock is a psychologist at CHI St. Vincent Infirmary. She represents the UAMS College of Health Professions Advisory Board and is a former member of the UAMS Advancement Council. She is past president of the Arkansas Psychological Association and formerly served on the Arkansas Psychology Board.
  • Jennifer Ronnel, J.D., of Little Rock is an attorney and assists with legal projects at Metal Recycling Corp. She is past president, secretary and Gala chair of the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute Foundation Fund Board. She represents the Cancer Institute’s Envoys Board of Directors. She is a member of the Cancer Institute Auxiliary, and a former member of the UAMS Advancement Council.

“The UAMS Foundation Fund Board is thankful these individuals are continuing their strong commitment to UAMS by volunteering their time and being advocates for our mission,” said Lance Burchett, executive director of the UAMS Foundation Fund Board and vice chancellor for Institutional Advancement. “We are honored they have agreed to serve, and we look forward to their continued partnership and guidance.”

The UAMS Foundation Fund Board is comprised of business and community leaders and philanthropists who serve as ambassadors and raise public awareness of the unique, critical role that UAMS has in Arkansas. The UAMS Foundation Fund is a subsidiary of the University of Arkansas Foundation Inc., and its board was established in 1976 as the UAMS Development Council.
