UAMS College of Public Health Welcomes Seven New Board Members
| LITTLE ROCK — Seven members have been added to the advisory board for the Fay W. Boozman College of Public Health at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences for three-year terms.
“We are so pleased to have the opportunity to work with all of these impressive professionals,” said College of Public Health Dean James M. Raczynski, Ph.D., who also sits on the board. “We welcome our new members and appreciate the continued advocacy and support all board members provide.”
The new members are:
- Melinda Faubel, director of external affairs for AT&T Arkansas and the AT&T Foundation liaison for Arkansas, who has extensive experience in engineering, human resources and corporate philanthropy
- Steve Jones, senior vice president and director of water services for Garver, an engineering, planning and environmental services firm headquartered in North Little Rock
- Jayme Mayo, a physican assistant whose work as the in-house medical provider and wellness director at Nabholz Construction has led to her being named Arkansas’ “Worksite Wellness Healthcare Hero” and featured in HBO’s documentary on obesity, “Weight of the Nation”
- Martha Jane Murray, an architect and director of the Clinton Climate Initiative’s Home Energy Affordability Loan (HEAL) program, the first employer-assisted energy benefit program in the United States
- Denver Peacock, an attorney and principal of The Peacock Group, a public affairs and public relations firm, who has more than 20 years of experience in strategy and corporate communications
- David Rainey, Ed.D., a retired educator and state legislator who served as superintendent of the Dumas School District from 2011-2014 and in the Arkansas House of Representatives from 2005-2011
- Greg Ramon, chief executive officer at Little Rock Wastewater
The new members join nine others already on the board. They are attorney Hershel Cleveland, former speaker of the Arkansas House of Representatives; Anthony Fletcher, physician at Baptist Health Cardiology and Medicine Clinic; Allan Gates, environmental attorney at Mitchell, Williams, Selig, Gates & Woodyard; Janet Jones, owner and president of Janet Jones Company Real Estate; Ruth Shepherd, president and CEO of Just Communities of Arkansas; Advisory Board Chairman Gordon Silaski, president of Centennial Bank’s Little Rock market; Jodiane Tritt, vice president for government relations at the Arkansas Hospital Association; and Wesley Walls, architect of the UAMS College of Health Building and principal at Polk Stanley Wilcox Architects.
UAMS is the state’s only health sciences university, with colleges of Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Health Professions and Public Health; a graduate school; a hospital; a main campus in Little Rock; a Northwest Arkansas regional campus in Fayetteville; a statewide network of regional campuses; and eight institutes: the Winthrop P.
