Laurie Ann Ross Named Senior Director of Development for UAMS Medical Center
| LITTLE ROCK — Laurie Ann Ross has been named senior director of development for UAMS Medical Center and the Integrated Clinical Enterprise at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS).
“Laurie Ann will work closely with medical center leadership; Dr. Richard Turnage, the associate dean of clinical sciences in the College of Medicine; and others to secure philanthropic investments in the clinical programs of UAMS,” said UAMS Medical Center CEO Roxane Townsend, M.D. “She will engage with donors and volunteers to advance the exceptional clinical care provided at UAMS.”
“In her role with the Integrated Clinical Enterprise, she will work to secure philanthropic support from individuals, corporations and foundations,” said Lance Burchett, UAMS vice chancellor for institutional advancement.
The Integrated Clinical Enterprise serves as a care delivery system focused on the needs of patients and their families that is respectful of and responsive to their preferences and values and provides an organizational structure that enables physicians and staff to work as a team, in partnership with patients and families, to provide quality care.
Ross joined UAMS in 2014 as the College of Medicine’s director of development where her responsibilities included cultivating, soliciting and stewarding donors, identifying programs for which private funds can be raised, and preparing written proposals for major gift solicitations.
Ross previously worked at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock as director of development and external affairs in the George W. Donaghey College of Engineering and Information Technology, and prior to that as director of corporate and foundation relations.
She served six years as volunteer services manager at the Arkansas Arts Center, in addition to five years as a public information officer at the Central Arkansas Library System and two years as executive director of Friends of the Zoo, a fundraising and special event group for the Little Rock Zoo.
Ross earned her bachelor’s in speech communication from UALR and is scheduled to complete her master’s in applied communication studies from UALR in December.
