“UAMS is committed to offering all Arkansans world-class health care. Our Neighborhood Clinics allow us to meet the primary care needs of our patients in their own communities,” said Roxane A. Townsend, M.D., UAMS Medical Center CEO and vice chancellor for clinical programs.

The public is invited to an open house at the clinic Nov. 17 from 2-7 p.m. Free health screenings and clinic tours will be offered, as well as snacks, activities for all ages and giveaways.

Services offered at the clinic, which opened Nov. 2, include annual exams and preventive care, treatment for illnesses that arise unexpectedly and management of ongoing medical conditions.

The clinic will be led by Michael Stout, M.D., who is board certified in family medicine and has been practicing in Little Rock for 18 years. Stout graduated from Arkansas Tech with a bachelor’s degree in biology and received his medical degree from UAMS. He completed a three-year residency with the UAMS Department of Family and Preventive Medicine.

“I’m excited about leading the UAMS Neighborhood Clinic,” said Stout. “My medical philosophy is simple: Patients should expect to be cared for in a friendly atmosphere by people who love what they do. That is what patients can expect at the clinic in Maumelle.”
