Child Trauma Expert to Speak At Grand Rounds
| LITTLE ROCK – Vincent J. Felitti, M.D., one of the world’s foremost experts on childhood trauma, will be the guest speaker at a special grand rounds presentation at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Thursday, Sept. 10 at 4 p.m. The event will be held in the UAMS Hospital Lobby Gallery and is open to the public.
Felitti is co-principal investigator of the internationally recognized Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Study, an in-depth analysis of over 17,000 adults. The ACE study revealed a powerful relationship between the emotional experiences of children and the physical and mental health of adults.

Founder of the Department of Preventive Medicine for Kaiser Permanente, Felitti served as chief of preventive medicine at the health-care company for over 25 years. Under Felitti’s leadership, his department provided comprehensive medical evaluations to 1.1 million individuals, becoming the largest single-site medical evaluation facility in the western world. Felitti has also served on advisory committees at the Institute of Medicine and the American Psychiatric Association.
