By Nate Hinkel

The free event will be held from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Scimitar Shrine building, located at 1 Scimitar Circle (off the Interstate 30 frontage road) in Little Rock.

Food, live music, games, a photo booth and other entertainment will be provided. The NICU at UAMS combines advanced technology with trained health care professionals to provide specialized treatment for the tiniest of patients in a patient- and family-centered environment. It averages more than 1,500 admissions each year and has survival rates among the best in the nation.

“Infants can remain in the UAMS NICU anywhere from one day up to six months,” said Becky Sartini, clinical services manager of the NICU. “We form special bonds with our patients and their families and this event helps us reconnect and celebrate.”
