UAMS Names Bellamy Chair for Department of Radiation and Imaging Studies

Bellamy, who started as department chair July 1, previously served since 2003 as a faculty member in the college’s Nuclear Medicine Imaging Sciences program and also as director for the Nuclear Medicine Advanced Associate program. The Department of Radiation and Imaging Studies includes the college’s Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Medical Dosimetry, Nuclear Imaging Sciences, Nuclear Medicine Advanced Associate, Radiologic Imaging Sciences and Radiologic Assistant programs.

Bellamy, a certified nuclear medicine technologist, received a doctorate in Health Systems Research in 2013 from UAMS. He earned a Master of Public Health degree from UAMS in 2006. He also earned an advanced certificate in diagnostic medical sonography and bachelor’s degree in nuclear medicine technology from UAMS.

He is a member of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging — Technologist Section and the American Public Health Association.
