She will join the College on July 16, and the center is expected to open in September.

“I am pleased to announce Dr. White’s appointment to this exciting new position,” said Stephanie F. Gardner, Pharm.D., Ed. Her work will set the tone for the difference this center will make in the health care of people in the 12th Street area and health education at UAMS.”

In her role as the center’s director, she will be responsible for developing and implementing health and wellness services and education for the residents of neighboring communities. White will promote interprofessional education through the development and coordination of teaching and clinical activities among students and faculty from a variety of disciplines.

She most recently directed the Postgraduate Year 2 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Residency Program and practiced as a clinical pharmacy specialist at the Diabetes and Endocrinology Firm, both at the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System.

A graduate of Xavier University of Louisiana College of Pharmacy in New Orleans, she completed pharmacy practice and ambulatory care pharmacy residencies at the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System. She has served as a clinical assistant professor at UAMS since 2008.

She has served as a peer reviewer for the American Journal of Health-System Pharmacists and has been active in the American College of Clinical Pharmacy and the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.

An active member of the community, White has participated in Better Girls Career Day, Camp Aldersgate Asthma Camp, Student National Pharmaceutical Association Career Day, Parkview Magnet High School Career Friday and Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund.
