UAMS Names Shahryar Ahmadi, M.D., Director of Shoulder & Elbow Surgery Center
| LITTLE ROCK – Shahryar Ahmadi, M.D., has been appointed director of the Center for Shoulder & Elbow Surgery at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS).
Ahmadi, also an assistant professor of orthopaedics in the UAMS College of Medicine, specializes in complex shoulder and elbow surgeries. He is one of a few surgeons in Arkansas who performs outpatient minimally invasive arthroscopic procedures.
He earned his medical degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, Iran. Ahmadi did his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Toronto.
Ahmadi also completed a fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.
Ahmadi holds patents in both the United States and Canada for devices used in arthroscopic and reconstructive surgeries and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC).
