UAMS Names Sharp Director of Research Review Board
| LITTLE ROCK – Jennifer Sharp, an attorney with 12 years experience as a legal advisor for research programs, has been named director of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Institutional Review Board.
The UAMS Institutional Review Board oversees research at UAMS, Arkansas Children’s Hospital, Arkansas Children’s Hospital Research Institute (ACHRI), the Arkansas Department of Health and the Clinton School of Public Service. Sharp has worked at UAMS and the ACHRI for the past 12 years.
Sharp most recently has been the UAMS research compliance officer. In that position she managed internal research auditing programs of human research studies. She developed the campus Research Compliance Plan and has served as a policy and regulatory resource for the Institutional Review Board. She also has served as the associate director of the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs and as a contract officer and legal and human protections administrator for ACHRI.
She earned her law degree from the University of Arkansas School of Law at Fayetteville in 1998. Sharp also received a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice administration and an associate of science degree in law enforcement from Missouri Southern State College in 1995.
