UAMS Head Start/Early Head Start to Take Enrollment Applications for the 2010-2011 School Year

Head Start and Early Head Start offer health, education and social services to children from low-income families. Early Head Start enrolls infants 6 weeks through 35 months and Head Start enrolls children ages 3 through 4 years.

Enrollment is free, but eligibility is based on federal income guidelines. For example, the annual income for a family of four cannot exceed $22,050.

Applications are available at any of the 20 Head Start centers in Pulaski County. Parents may also register at the Head Start Central Office, 7415 Colonel Glenn in Little Rock between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday-Friday.

To register a child, parents must present:
• Original birth certificate
• Up-to-date immunization record
• Medical insurance, Medicaid, or AR Kids First card
• Child’s Social Security card
• Proof of income for 2009 year (W-2 form(s), 1040 or 1099 tax forms, or VOE, Verification of Earnings)
