Hot Springs Village Invited to Free UAMS Lectures on Depression and Seniors

LITTLE ROCK – Hot Springs Village residents are invited to attend a free lecture at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 4 on depression and older adults by Lou Ann Eads, M.D., a psychiatrist and assistant professor in the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences’ (UAMS) Department of Psychiatry.

The lecture, followed by a question-and-answer session, will be held at Christ of the Hills United Methodist Church in Hot Springs Village. Reservations are not necessary.

Eads is director of the UAMS Psychiatric Research Institute’s geriatric inpatient unit. She will be addressing “Depression in the Senior Population,” the first of a three-part series entitled “Facing the Ups and Downs: Mental Health and Older Adults.”

The Nov. 11 session will focus on “Suicide Risk, Recognition and Response” while the Nov. 18 presentation will be on “Depression and Prescription Drugs.” To find out more about the upcoming presentations or to get directions, call the church at 501-922-4503.
