UAMS Invites Older Adults to Get a 20-Minute ‘CarFit’
| LITTLE ROCK – The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) will host a free AARP program Oct. 31 designed to help older drivers become more acquainted with safety and other features of their vehicles.
Called CarFit, the program is open to the public and will be available from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 31 in the parking lot of the UAMS Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging, 629 Jack Stephens Drive on the UAMS campus.
No appointments are necessary, and each car inspection by representatives of the AARP will take about 20 minutes. CarFit involves checking the rearview mirror alignment, seat adjustment, steering wheel position, driver distance from steering wheel, lights, etc.
