UAMS Programs on Diabetes, Drug Allergies To be Held Sept. 27 for Pharmacists, Health Care Workers
| LITTLE ROCK – Pharmacists and other health care professionals are invited to attend two continuing education programs sponsored by the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) College of Pharmacy on Sept. 27 at the Delta Area Health Education Center in Helena-West Helena.
The programs will be held from 12:45 to 4:15 p.m. at the Delta AHEC, located at 1393 Highway 242 South.
“Diabetes Update: Fall 2009” will be given by Dosha Cummins, Pharm.D., associate professor at the UAMS College of Pharmacy, and “Drug Allergy” will be presented by Kendrea Muldrew, Pharm.D., assistant professor in the UAMS College of Pharmacy.

The program is underwritten by an endowment fund established at the UAMS College of Pharmacy with initial gifts from Clark and Becky Hall and Jane Glass, all of Marvell. The program memorializes and honors Gerald J. Glass, Pharm.D., a Delta community leader and pharmacist, who served as an early proponent of local continuing education for pharmacists. Income from the fund is used to provide annual live patient-care lectures at the Delta AHEC in Helena-West Helena. The programs cover diabetes, coronary heart disease, long-term care, asthma, poison control, addictive and compulsive behaviors, mental illness and other issues.
