UAMS to Offer Symposium on Teaching with Technology
| LITTLE ROCK — Educators interested in technology-related issues in education are invited to attend the Teaching with Technology Symposium July 19-20 at the The pre-symposium workshops are scheduled from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. July 19 at the UAMS Fay W. Boozman College of Public Health. The symposium will be held from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. July 20 at the UAMS Jackson T. Stephens Spine & Neurosciences Institute. Registration begins at 8 a.m. both days, and a reception will follow the July 19 session. Cost is $45 for one day or $75 for both days. Students receive a discount. The symposium is designed for higher education and K-12 educators, corporate trainers and others who participate in technology-based education. Sessions will include topics such as podcasting, digital image editing, response technologies, WebCT, and Tablet PC and Smartboard Technologies. This professional development program has been approved by the Arkansas Department of Education. Vendors will present new product offerings, demonstrations and door prizes. UAMS is the state’s only comprehensive academic health center, with five colleges, a graduate school, a medical center, six centers of excellence and a statewide network of regional centers.
