Associate Medical Director for Pediatric Simulation
Associate Professor, Anesthesiology
“I become acquainted with simulation in 2005 and instantly became passionate about this interactive, learner-oriented, clinical educational method. I am dedicated to developing and teaching simulation courses and workshops for health care professionals at Arkansas Children’s Hospital and promoting safety through team training and resource crisis management in the operating room. I have also developed simulation curriculum for the anesthesiology residents and pediatric anesthesiology fellows, for which I have received the award for Outstanding Resident Education in the area of Medical Simulation.
Further, I am focused on using simulation for training practitioners to administer deep sedation outside of the operating room. I have developed a comprehensive simulation course required for acquiring and maintaining deep sedation privileges for non-anesthesiologist physicians at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. I have served as faculty for simulation workshops on safe pediatric sedation at the annual international Pediatric Sedation Outside of the Operating Room Conference.”
