At UAMS, our interventional oncology specialists use imaging technology to diagnosis and treat localized cancers.
Through minimally and noninvasive procedures, our experts are able to directly target solid tumors. Since these procedures are less invasive than traditional surgeries, our patients usually can be treated on an outpatient basis or stay one night in the hospital, recovering quickly with fewer risks and side effects.
Through arterial or ablative targeted procedures, treatment is delivered directly to the site of the cancer, minimizing the possibility of injury to other organs. We also use biopsies for genomics analysis.
Our interventional oncologists treat patients with the following cancers:
- Colon cancer
- Liver cancer
- Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC)
