Cardiovascular Clinic

The experienced cardiothoracic surgeons in our Cardiovascular Clinic offer a range of surgical solutions for patients with heart conditions or thoracic disorders, which typically involve the lungs and esophagus. We are committed to helping you improve your quality of life.

At UAMS, you have access to the most advanced and recent developments in cardiovascular surgery. We perform many different procedures, including:

  • Laser therapy
  • Airway and esophageal stents
  • Minimally-invasive, advanced video-assisted interventions
  • Minimally invasive procedures to diagnose or rule out conditions such as lung or esophageal cancer
  • Removal of lung and esophageal lesions

Our caring and compassionate surgeons work closely with UAMS cardiologists, radiologists and pulmonologists provide personalized care to patients with ischemic heart disease/coronary artery inclusive disease, mitral/aortic valve disease (severe heart murmurs) or cardiac arrhythmias (irregular heart rhythms). Surgical procedures include:

  • Coronary artery bypass grafting
  • Valve repair and replacement
  • Electrophysiology services such as implantation of pacemakers and automatic internal cardiac defibrillators (AICDs)

Appointments with the Cardiovascular Clinic are by referral only. Please contact your primary care doctor or visit one of our doctors in the Center for Primary Care to obtain a referral.

What should I bring to the appointment?

For your first appointment, please bring a photo ID and your insurance card along with a list of any medications you’re taking, including over-the-counter medications. You should also bring any medical records you can provide, including slides or test results from other clinics.

For future appointments, please provide updated medical and insurance information.

How do I request a prescription refill or contact a nurse from the clinic?

Please call the clinic at 501-686-5220, or you can request prescription refills during your appointment. If you originally filled your prescription at the UAMS Outpatient Pharmacy, you can also refill your prescription online.

Parking is available in Parking 3 at the corner of Cedar and Capitol. Valet parking is available (for a fee) in front of the Outpatient Center.
