Child Study Center Outpatient Therapy Clinic
The Child Study Center’s Outpatient Therapy Clinic serves the entire state of Arkansas, with over 1,000 new patients referred each year. Our highly-trained specialists can provide a personalized treatment plan for children with behavioral problems or physical conditions.
Each child will receive a thorough assessment, which consists of clinical interviews, mental status exams and reviews of existing evaluation or historical data. Based on this assessment, treatment is initiated or appropriate referrals are made for psychological evaluations and subsequent treatment plan recommendations. Consultation from a child psychiatrist, psychiatric social worker or other mental health specialist is available as needed.
Play therapy and other techniques are routinely used by our caring and compassionate UAMS staff members.
Outpatient diagnostic services include the following:
- Individual, group and family therapy
- Behavior management techniques
- Parent education and training
- Medication consultation and treatment
This clinic primarily treats children of ages preschool through 13, along with their parents or guardians.
The Child Study Center Outpatient Therapy Clinic is by referral only. Please contact your child’s physician for a referral. If your child does not have a physician you may call the Arkansas Children’s Hospital appointment center at 501-364-4000 to make an appointment with a UAMS pediatrician.
