Condition: Median Arcuate Ligament Syndrome (MALS)

Also called: Celiac Artery Compression; Celiac Axis Syndrome ; Dunbar Syndrome

MALS occurs when a band of tissue in your chest presses on, or traps, the artery that supplies blood to the organs in your upper abdomen.

Everyone’s median arcuate ligament and celiac artery are a little bit different, which can make a diagnosis a moving target.
