In certain cases, patients can present with features of both hip impingement and a mild form of hip dysplasia, which is referred to as borderline hip dysplasia. The treatment plan for borderline hip dysplasia depends on numerous factors: boney anatomy, ligamentous laxity, presence of labral and cartilage injury, and range of motion. As such, treatment options can range from hip arthroscopy with careful capsular closure to a PAO.
