Learn MoreAdvance Care Planning
In the event you are unable to speak for yourself, it is important that your health care team know and honor your wishes.
Advance care planning is a routine part of cancer care and is applicable for patients in all stages of illness. Conversations should start at diagnosis and be revisited through every phase of treatment.
Financial Counseling
We are committed to working with you so financial concerns don’t hinder your ability to receive the medical care you need.
The Cancer Institute has financial counselors in the Central Business Center located on the first floor. They are available to counsel patients seeking financial assistance, to determine eligibility for discounts and other related forms of financial aid, and to coordinate patient financial issues with hospital and physician billing. They also can assist patients with Medicaid/Health Care Independence Program Applications.
Returning Cancer Institute patients who would like to speak with a financial counselor may do so by contacting the Office of Financial Clearance at 501-686-7400 or 855-841-8307 (toll-free) and Press “1”.
Nutrition Services
Proper nutrition is an important part of cancer treatment. Our oncology dietitian will provide you with expertise in food and nutrition and can give individual recommendations based on your diagnosis to make the most of the foods you eat before, during and after cancer treatment.
Pharmacist
A licensed pharmacist is available for consultations at the Cancer Institute by request through your nurse. Consultations may be scheduled at the beginning or anytime during your treatment.
The pharmacist can provide education about possible effects of chemotherapy and supportive care medicines; assist with palliative care and pain management; and monitor other medications you may take regularly.
Pastoral Care
Chaplains are available 24 hours a day to provide spiritual and emotional support to patients, family members and friends experiencing a cancer diagnosis.
If you would like to speak to a chaplain at any time, call 501-412-9340, ask your nurse or visit the Welcome Desk on the first floor.
Our pastoral care team respects the faith traditions of our patients and can contact a patient’s pastor or representative of their faith community upon request.
An interfaith chapel is located in the Patient Support Pavilion on the first floor of the Cancer Institute and open from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.
Social Workers
If you would like to speak to a social worker, call 501-603-1612 or talk to your nurse.
Clinical oncology social workers are available in every Cancer Institute clinic. Our social workers have special training in the needs of cancer patients and families and have spent time walking with many people through their experience with cancer.
