March 31, 2015 | The College of Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) recently received full, eight-year reaccreditation from a national committee that oversees medical education, which commended the college on it’s innovative instructional strategy – among other things.

Smeltzer Earns Distinguished Faculty Scholar Honor

Nov. 19, 2013 | To understand why Mark Smeltzer, Ph.D., was about to be recognized as a Distinguished Faculty Scholar in the UAMS College of Medicine, all anyone had to do was look at the near-capacity audience gathered in Pauly Auditorium to hear the announcement and to hear the veteran professor lecture.

Medical Showcase Events Help Boost Collaboration

Sept. 13, 2013 | What began in late 2012 as an informal academic gathering has evolved into a must-attend social event for UAMS researchers, physicians, faculty and students as about 100 gathered Sept. 5 for “The Showcase of Medical Discoveries: A Focus on Personalized Medicine,” the fourth of an ongoing series.
