Discovery Helps UAMS Researcher Land $1.8 Million NIH Grant for Herpes Virus and Cancer Research

LITTLE ROCK – A surprise discovery that could lead to new treatments for herpes viruses that infect more than 90 percent of the world’s adult population has led to a $1.8 million grant to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
