UAMS Employees Share Holiday Spirit at Hollydays Concert
| Dec. 8, 2016 | It was a jolly affair as UAMS employees showed off their talents Dec. 2 at the Hollydays Concert.
A lively — and festively clad — group sang, played the piano, strummed the guitar, recited poetry and thoroughly entertained their fellow UAMS employees in the Hospital Lobby Gallery.

Chaplain George Hull, complete with a Santa hat, served as the master of ceremonies — and featured prominently in a couple of acts.
Chancellor Dan Rahn, M.D., started off the frivolity, playing the piano for a singalong that featured such songs as “Let It Snow,” “Rudolph, the Red-nosed Reindeer,” “Silver Bells” and “White Christmas.” And just in case audience members didn’t know the songs well enough to sing along, the words were projected on the screen.

- Karlene Case, labor & delivery, singing “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”
- Bruce Rodtnick, IT classroom technologies, singing “Mary, Did You Know?”
- Heart of the Rock with Kendra Henderson, parking operations, singing “Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” “Go Tell It on the Mountain” and the hilarious “Diddly Squat”

LaTasha Moore, a student in the Fay W. Boozman College of Public Health, sings “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” during the Hollydays concert.

- Leta Joyner, Jones Eye Institute, playing the guitar and singing “The Christmas Song”
- Janean Hardister, occupational health and safety, singing “Santa Baby”
- Melisa Clark, Office of Research Regulatory Affairs, singing “The Twelve Days of Christmas,” complete with 12 sign-holding volunteers
Case told the crowd before her song that she sings because it brings her joy. It was evident that all of the performers felt the same way — and the crowd loved them for it.
Following the concert, the lighting of the holiday trees in the Hospital Lobby took place.
Sponsored by the UAMS Hospital Auxiliary and the UAMS Medical Center, the concert was organized by the Arts of UAMS as part of the Friday Live@UAMS events.
