Nickleson to Lead New UAMS Office of Research Information Systems

Since 2008, Nickleson has served as assistant director of the university’s Office of Research and Sponsored Programs.

The newly formed office implements an integrated information management system that enables faculty, research staff, administrators and compliance officers efficiently to procure and administer grants, contracts and sponsored programs. It also provides business analysis services and technical solutions to address business issues for the university’s research initiatives.

Nickleson joined UAMS in 2002, working first in the Disability Services Quality Improvement Center and then in positions in the College of Medicine’s Department of Pediatrics and the Department of Pathology. In 2004, Nickleson joined the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs. A year later, she was elected chair of the university’s Grants Management Certification Program.

Nickleson earned her master’s degree in human services from Capella University, specializing in nonprofit management and her bachelor’s degree in biology from Arkansas State University. She is a Certified Research Administrator.

UAMS is the state’s only health sciences university, with colleges of Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Health Professions and Public Health; a graduate school; a hospital; a main campus in Little Rock; a Northwest Arkansas regional campus in Fayetteville; a statewide network of regional campuses; and eight institutes: the Winthrop P.
