A graduate of George Washington University Medical School, Jensen most recently served as vice chair for research in the Department of Psychiatry & Psychology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He previously served as the associate director for Child and Adolescent Research at the National Institute for Mental Health and was the Ruane Professor of Psychiatry at Columbia University in New York.

Jensen is also the president and CEO of the REACH (REsource for Advancing Children’s Health) Institute, which he founded in 2006. Based in New York, the non-profit organization develops tools and techniques to help physicians, teachers, counselors, and parents dealing with children with emotional and behavioral disorders.

“We look forward to working with Dr. Jensen and the REACH Institute to establish a unique model of care,” said Pedro L. Delgado, M.D., chairman of the Department of Psychiatry and director of the UAMS Psychiatric Research Institute. “With Dr. Jensen’s help, we expect to create a division that significantly increases our national visibility and an environment that is very attractive to future faculty members.”
