UAMS’ Worley Awarded Lifetime Achievement Award

LITTLE ROCK – Linda L.M. Worley, M.D., a professor in the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences’ (UAMS) Department of Psychiatry, has received the 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Association for Academic Psychiatry (AAP).

The award, presented Oct. 11 at the AAP annual meeting in Nashville, is given each year to recognize long-term, sustained contribution to AAP by a national or international leader in education. Worley was recognized for “her valuable contributions to the field of academic psychiatry and for her many years of committed leadership in the organization.”

Worley is also a staff psychiatrist in the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System

Women’s (CAVHS) Primary Care Clinic and an educational consultant in the UAMS College of Medicine’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is an adjunct clinical professor of medicine at Vanderbilt University and serves as faculty in the Distressed Physicians’ Course within the Center for Professional Health.

Worley is a past president of the Association of Academic Psychiatry and is vice president of the Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine.
